is it really impossible to live without sex?

one of my friend has sex relation with a girl.. now they r having various issues.but my friend says that he cant leave her until he gets another girl as after having sex it has become impossible for him being without it,
is it a reality?

I used to want it all the time and now I don't want it hardly
ever anymore.
